PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The project officer will be responsible for implementation of the JPF project and act as an expert for the project. The individual will be responsible for providing technical and organizational support and overseeing the contextualization and implementation of interventions in Mosul. Liaises and works closely with related structures, stakeholders and implementing partner and carries out day-to-day implementation. Deliverable project outcomes in compliance with Donor’s requirements. She/he will be represented as a local coach and ensure quality implementation of services.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Activities
1. Capacity Building of Staff / implanting partner
-
In coordination with project coordinator , and implementing partner, recruit appropriate staff
-
All the staff and CPC member are trained on required topics, including Child Protection, Child Rights ,PFA and PSS
-
Closely observe performance of each staff a, provide timely advice and appreciation
2. Coordination and Project Implementation
-
In coordination with project coordinator, implement project activities in accordance with the project guidelines and targets
-
Together with project coordinator, support implanting partner to create bi-weekly activity schedule for project activities
-
Will ensure that weekly and monthly planning and feedback meetings take place for the project team
-
Will ensure a context based mechanism is in place to hear the voice of the community for WVI project interventions.

Assist in identifying, reporting and responding to existing and potential child protection threats at the community level.

Keep the Project coordinator updated of the task accomplished, and issues.

Be sure that strategies and operational measures effectively respond to protection requirements

Attend and represent WVI at the inter-agency and coordination meetings (clusters and others) as agreed with the project coordinator and technical advisor.

Strengthen the relationships between field stakeholders and beneficiaries

Draft the monthly and quarterly project reviews/ Detailed Implementation Plans and follow-up of key actions with the close support of the project coordinator

Prepare draft weekly and monthly reports and send to project coordinator

Support Project Coordinator to administer project budget to ensure accurate and timely budget spending
4. Strengthening the community engagement and networks

Together with implementing partner staff , organize monthly Child protection committees meeting to share the achievements of children;

Together with the Project coordinator , and the implementing partners, create awareness raising modules for parents about child protection, child care and psychosocial impact on parents and children
5. Meet internal and external reporting requirements

Submit weekly, monthly, annual activity report to project coordinator

Based on the donor requirement, support project coordinator to submit required donor report

Support project coordinator to submit information and report to Inter-agency WGs
6. Project Filing

Ensure project documentation system is updated

The documents only need to be shared with the manager he/she will be reporting to.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-
At least Bachelor’s degree on social science (social work, education, psychology, sociology, project management or any other relevant field.)

Minimum 3 years of work experience with children and project management (teaching, nursery, social work, etc.)

Native Arabic Fluent in English (speaking and writing) - written test will be prepared.

Computer literate mainly in Microsoft Office package.

Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity.

Ability to work in difficult and high risk situations.

Ability to cope and work under pressure.
-
Well-organized, self-motivated and ability to work in a team.

Familiar with Humanitarian Principles and standards.
-
Familiar with sector minimum standards and guidelines such as Minimum Standards for CP in Humanitarian Actions, Inter-Agency guideline on MHPSS in humanitarian settings).

Full adherence to World Vision Child Protection, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.

Work experience with humanitarian agencies.

Management experience (especially managing the diverse team of staff/ volunteers).
