World Vision - Iraq Office is looking for a highly qualified and motivated person for the position of Distribution Assistant – Sulaymaniyah

Purpose of position:

To mobilize and work with community for food distribution, set up distribution according to World Vision standard distribution procedures and provide accurate documentation on all food commodities distributions.

Major Responsibilities

Major Activities

Ensure that all commodities entrusted to World Vision arriving at distribution centers are properly accounted for.
Scrutinize all waybills for commodities arriving at the distribution centers.
Ensure that the commodities are of correct quantities and quality as manifested on the waybill. Immediately record all quantities delivered short (missing), quantities lost in transit and quantities damaged if any. All observations must be recorded immediately. Commodities must carefully be counted during off-loading.
At the distribution center, commodities must be stacked in an organized manner, by commodity type to facilitate easy distribution.
Supervise loading of food that is left over after distributions. Ensure that a waybill is prepared for food to be returned to the warehouse.
Ensure that the distributors complete all forms and records pertaining to distributions. These forms must be completed and updated periodically as required.
Ensure proper accounting of all quantities of commodities received and distributed at each center.
Ensure that the distribution center is properly organized and secured with ropes and crowd control measures put in place to ensure smooth distribution and flow of beneficiaries.
Responsible to ensure that all necessary distribution equipment are available at the distributions center, including forms, ropes, banners, plastic sheets etc.
Ensure beneficiaries must be scanned on LMMS (Beneficiary Management System) where it is applicable before receiving food or sign /thumb-print against their names on the beneficiary lists as proof that they received their food rations

Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:

Prospective candidates should have a minimum of diploma, bachelor degree an added advantage.
Experience in relevant fields.
Good command of oral and written Arabic, English a strong an added advantage.
This position requires a mature candidate, a self-starter, with dedication and ability to work with less. Must demonstrate willingness to learn and work with others as a team.
Ability to perform field assignments and willingness to travel for long period of time in demanding conditions.
