World Vision - Iraq Office is looking for a highly qualified and motivated person for the position of Warehouse & Logistic Assistant – Sulaymaniyah
Purpose of position:
To ensure proper and safe custody (storage) of all NFI commodities entrusted to WV by donors. This could be implemented through overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations such as commodity transactions in the warehouse, including receipt, storage and delivery of all commodities as well as staff management.
Warehouse Commodity Management
  • Ensure that all commodities entrusted to World Vision arriving at the warehouse and leaving the warehouse are properly accounted for.
  • Ensure that proper logistic arrangements are always in place so that projects will run smoothly without avoidable commodity stock shortages in the warehouse.
  • Based on the receipt of distributions plan from field team  prepare monthly secondary transport requirements to food distribution sites
  • Coordinate closely with WFP on receiving food commodities into WVI warehouse
  • Coordinate with  secondary transporters  to ensure transport is adequately provided timely to FDPs
  • food requirement plan which indicted the balance at end of the month from the districts warehouse and the
  • Based on the distributions plan received arrange all logistical needs( transport, resources etc.) for field teams
  • Make sure all warehouse has timely information as to when and what to expect from the WFP warehouse to WVI warehouse
  • Prepare warehouse inspection report on monthly basis
  • As relevant liaise with donor for any spoilt commodities and necessary action to be taken
  • Produce a routine report of the cost analysis with recommendations of the project operation
  • Closely collaborate with all project units i.e. Distribution team, warehouse, WFP logistics in ensuring all logistics support needs is taken care of.
Maintain Warehouse standards
  • Ensure that warehouse best practices, standards are maintained at all times as guided by WV Commodity manual standards this includes but not limited to maintaining  FIFO instead of LIFO unless there is reasonable grounds, proper stacking, adequate warehouse equipment etc
  • Establish and maintain proper logistics coordination with WFP, USAID, FAO other donors’ logistics departments
  • Provide required periodic warehouse reports( daily ,weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual report)
Commodity Loss Management
Develops zero tolerance loss of commodities in the warehouse.
Warehouse Staff Management
  • Establish professional systems of managing warehouse staff and casual staff in the warehouse
Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:
  • Bachelors in Accounting, Humanitarian Studies, Economics etc.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in related field preferably in Warehousing and logistics.
  • Good oral and written English skills
  • Computer literacy.

Complete Travel and/or Work Environment statements if applicable.
  • This position will work from the warehouse.
