Summary of the Job
The Visual Communication Officer will report to the Outreach Project Manager and will work on QANDIL’s ‘**Outreach Project**,’ and support other communication and visibility needs of the whole Erbil office. The outreach project is a joint initiative by UNHCR and QANDIL, which aims to mobilize Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) within Erbil Governorate to build their own community-based mechanism for protection through volunteers. The Graphic Design officer will be responsible for creating visibility products for the outreach project; including but not limited to, supporting the development of the Outreach report, creating short video clips, creating information leaflets, posters, information cards, managing a social media platform, photography, and supporting the creation of the QANDIL newsletter. The Visual Communication Officer will support other QANDIL Erbil teams by providing social media and website support, designing, a dynamic communications and visibility strategy, with support of the Field Coordinator and Visual Communication Officer. Plus the Visual Communication Officer will work closely with other Qandil staff and members of refugee and IDP Protection and Reintegration Center (PARC) as well as coordinating with other relevant partners and community networks.
Duties and responsibilities

Creating short videos to promote the QANDIL Outreach volunteer project;

Producing information leaflets for a wide and varied audience;

Designing and producing visibility materials for awareness campaigns and sensitization activities;

Managing social media outputs on refugee and IDP activities for the QANDIL Erbil office;

Develop and conduct Communications trainings for program staff and volunteers;

Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and volunteers internally;

Assisting volunteers and outreach team leaders in creating and managing localized online information platforms using social media;

Identify new communications platforms and ideas.
