JOB SUMMARY
The store keeper is responsible for managing all of the operations in the warehouse. He plays a key role in the proper care and maintenance of the stock, including ordering, receiving, and managing inventory. Also, he is responsible for getting the goods out of the warehouse and knowing the shortcomings and the products the store needs.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out all the processes of receiving, checking and inspecting the items in terms of quality and storing them in the warehouse (in an appropriate manner).
- Verify the specifications, quantities and quality corresponding to the purchase order and record them within the stock balances.
- Communicate regularly with the financial and the purchasing departments to inform them of the stock situation in the company.
- Allocate a suitable storage preservation space commensurate with each category, assure a proper distribution of the goods according to the homogeneity of each category and ensure preserving their basic characteristics and components taking into account the following elements (heat, moisture, radiation, ventilation, spaces, etc..).
- Work on a storage system that ensures easy withdrawal and receipt of stock, regardless of the nature of withdrawal, and adopting the principle of first in first out (expiry norms). - Receiving the orders from different departments and provide them with the requested goods based on the set procedure (kitchen, bar, hall, office, etc...).
- Follow up on the warehouse and stock balances on a regular basis, review items to indicate the extent of stock consumption/withdrawal, and work on the prevention of goods from damage, loss, stagnation, expiry. Carry out the monthly, quarterly and annual inventory forms with the involved departments.
- Secure the storage area by registering the items in appropriate ways, the information related to them, and specifying the location of each item for easy access.
- Continuous planning for the warehouse arrangement, follow-up on workers and sending periodic and daily reports with the must to work on the computer.
- Clean, arrange, stack, handle, follow up and deal with superiors and subordinates with teamwork spirit.
REPORTING LINE
- Reports directly to the Senior Cost Controller.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum a high school Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role (Hospitality Industry).
- Flexible working hours subject to the demands of the business.
- Organized and punctual.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time
- Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner.
