Position Summary:

This KRI based role will report to the Lead Civil Engineer and is a mainly site-based role with some office attendance is Erbil.

Key Accountabilities:

Interface closely with the Engineering, Operations and Support teams of Genel and its Contractors. An active engagement with all parties is required to achieve a successful design and safe site work-execution with associated local Contractors.

The candidate duties and activities are centered around work preparations and worksite supervision of the works executed by local Contractors. Engagement will also take place with non-technical departments such as the GE government Liaison Officer and the local communities where work is performed. The candidate will be involved and supporting both green field development projects and extension and maintenance projects to the existing sites and infrastructures.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
The Civil Engineer acts on instructions provided by Lead Civil Engineer and works in close relation with the Drilling teams, Technical Support teams, Contractor and local community.
The Civil Engineer has extensive understanding and experience with:

Site survey and quantity estimations is essential

Supervision of site technicians and engineers

Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills

Being a self-starter with a flexible attitude to support and develop green field operations

Worksite supervision and managing of Contractors to ensure safe and timely works

In addition to the standard Office applications and computing skills, experienced with AutoCAD, Civil 3D Design, Total station, and GPS Instruments is essential

Permit to work management system for works on site and safe work execution

University Degree level education in Civil Engineering with 5+ years of professional engineering experience Construction industry, specially Oil and Gas projects

Excellent writing and speaking English communication skills

The candidate is sensitive to supervising and working with diverse cultural and religious backgrounds and is self-motivated, uses their initiative and is versatile.
