JOB SUMMARY
The Specialist (She/He) will provide support to the design, planning, and presentation of statistical data relating to the economic and fiscal reform activities being undertaken by the IGPA/Takamul Project. The activities are aimed at supporting the work being done by the IGPA adviser within both Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the Ministry of Planning (MOP). The specialist will be responsible for consolidating various economic and fiscal statistical data in a well-structured spreadsheet and using Excel-related techniques for organizing and computing. The functions also including carrying out a few economic analysis, reviewing and maybe translating
activities, as requested by the Macroeconomic Advisor of LGPA Project.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review and analyze the economic and fiscal data as well as other types of data needed for the required analysis and work of the advisor
  • Working with the IGPA Macroeconomic Adviser to prepare overviews and summaries on the data being provided from the Government institutions.
  • Attend meetings with the IGPA Macroeconomic Adviser at various government institutions where IGPA is active when required, and be able to explain to various government institutions’ staff and department how data can be organized and prepared on Excel spreadsheets
  • Arrange for bespoke training sessions for counterparts at the Ministries to improve their capabilities and reporting standards in using Excel.
  • Other duties as assigned by the IGPA Macroeconomic Advisor
EXPERIENCE
  • BS or BA in Economics, and at least 8 years of work experience in economic or financial institutions
  • Experience working with government economic institutions and/or research entities
  • Expertise in using Excel to prepare complex programs for data analysis
  • Experience in conducting short training programs in Excel for employees
  • Prior experience working on USAID programs preferred
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • The ability to think creatively and be proactive in program design and management
  • Fluency in English and Arabic required.
  • Self-motivated and well organized
 
REPORTING / DUTY STATION
  • Reports to the IGPA Macroeconomic Advisor
  • Duty Station: IGPA/Takamul Office, at the International zone, Baghdad
