ABOUT HUMAN APPEAL:
Human Appeal (HA) is a British humanitarian, non-governmental and non-profit organisation that works in 25 countries around the world since 1991. Human Appeal has been operating in Iraq since 2016. Human Appeal currently has almost 400 staff across numerous locations in Iraq, including Erbil, Dohuk, Ninewa, Salah al Din, Kirkuk and Baghdad. Human Appeal Iraq’s country office is in Erbil with sub-offices in Mosul, Tikrit, Baghdad and Aana. Human Appeal has and is delivering over $50 million in humanitarian and early-recovery assistance in 2017-18. Human Appeal is working in a number of thematic sectors: primarily in protection; shelter and non-food items; food security and livelihoods; WASH; and education. Human Appeal’s main donors include UNHCR, UNOCHA, WFP and numerous other international institutional partners.
Human Appeal Iraq is seeking an Office Assistant to support the administrative duties of the Country Director. The Office Assistant will report directly to the Country Director. The Office Assistant will have office and personal assistant duties which are included in the following points.
-The security of HUMAN APPEAL personnel and any other person in their charge.
-The security and protection from damage of all HUMAN APPEAL premises, vehicles and equipment.
-Ensuring a secure cordon around HUMAN APPEAL personnel, premises, vehicles and equipment.
-Ensuring that unauthorized personnel, vehicles, packages or any other goods are checked to ensure that they do not pose any threat to HUMAN APPEAL personnel or property.
-Searching and disarming any visitors to HUMAN APPEAL premises.
-Coordinating with the Safety and Security Officer to inform any HUMAN APPEAL personnel that they have a visitor, and checking that the visitor is a welcome one before allowing them inside the premises.
-Being at their place of duty throughout their shift.
-Being immediately available when having meal or rest breaks.
-Roving foot patrols as detailed by the Safety and Security Officer.
-Work within the framework of HUMAN APPEAL’s core values.
-Act as an ambassador for HUMAN APPEAL.
-Participate in meetings where relevant.
-Work in compliance with HUMAN APPEAL’s Policies, including but not limited to, Equal Opportunities, Code of Conduct and Dignity at Work Policies.
-Undertake any other duties as may be required.
-High school degree or equivalent.
-Must have a security clearance.
-He has worked for at least two years in guards.
-Prefer to be from the left side of the Mosul city and aware of the region
-Valid driver’s license.
-Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the course of the shift.
-Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds or more.
-Able to work night, weekends, and holidays.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
-Able to work independently.
-Pays attention to detail and monitors quality of inventory.
-Highly organized and able to store items efficiently.
-Must follow all health and safety procedure and regulations as dictated by the organization and the state.
