Genel Energy is an exploration and production company with a focus on the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. We are one of the largest London listed independent oil producers, primarily through our interest in the Tawke Production Sharing Contract, which contains the world-class Tawke field and Peshkabir discovery. Our primary growth focus is the commercialization of the world-scale Bina Bawi and Miran gas discoveries, which contain c.2bn boe of raw gas resource. We also have a potentially high-impact exploration portfolio in Africa, including significant acreage holdings onshore Somaliland. Our growth aspirations are supported by a robust balance sheet and strong cash flow generation, with the latter enhanced following a 2017 agreement with the KRG to settle historical receivables. Our management team has seen significant recent additions, particularly bringing in a new CFO and COO with decades of industry experience of some of the largest oil companies globally.
Project Work Scope:
This role is based at the rig location to oversee all the tangibles and rental tools and equipment arriving and leaving the well location. Work close with the Drilling Team and C&P Team to coordinate the tangibles movement. Work closely with the Service Companies to coordinate the rental tools arriving and leaving the rig location.
 

Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for the rig site storage, inventory integrity, security, and disposal of material.
  • Ensure the inventory files has detailed item description, procurement cost, current condition, residual cost, storage location, etc.  
  • Ensure compliance with KRI, partner, and Genel Inventory Management Process.
  • Familiar with KRI and drilling regulatory standards and API, NACE, etc.
  • Attend meetings with KRI and other stakeholders as required.
  • Visit service providers with drilling personnel to audit equipment.
  • Work close with Genel Drilling and C&P Department.
  • Show strong HSE commitment during planning and operational phases of the project.
  • Participate in reconnaissance trips with Drilling or C&P Departments.
  • Participate in special projects and studies, internal investigations, peer reviews, audits, insurance claims, NPT and invoice issues, etc.
  • Ensures all work within the area of responsibility is adequately documented and lessons learned are captured for the benefit of future operations worldwide.
  • Build effective relationships and interact professionally with internal / external stakeholders and service companies.
  • Follow up on daily basis the completion and intervention operations and plan ahead in order to ensure any inventory requirements.
  • Provides and maintains inventory control records during and after operations.
  • If needed, initiate requisitions to maintain stock at prescribed levels commensurate with lead times and planned operations.
  • Maintain files on each requisition with complete history on acquisition, transportation and receipt.
  • Provide for records and location control of all Genel-owned and rented drilling tool equipment and follow up with operational personnel to make sure rental equipment is immediately returned to vendors once dispatched from the field.
  • Ensure all rental tools arriving at the rig site and leaving the rig site are accurate with shipping documents.
  • Ensure that delivery of bulk materials is arranged for and that an accurate record of delivered quantities is obtained. 
  • Ensure maintenance records of all material movements, stock and rental, including Materials Transfer Manifest (MTM), Goods Received Notes (GRN), Materials Return Note (MRN), Stock Transfer Note (STN), and Damage/Discrepancy Notes (DDN).
  • Assist to consolidate load-out lists based on input from Drilling Engineers and dissemination of these to all parties concerned.
  • Ensure that all chemicals and hazardous materials are packed labeled and handled according to Industry standards and applicable in-country laws.
  • Provide for all material documentation as per established procedure.
  • Manage customs clearance process for materials/equipment being received or sent from the country. 
  • Ensure that all MSDS sheets are up-to-date and available on the location.
  • Ensure that all lifting equipment has valid certification and color code is up-to-date. 
  • Ensure that all chemicals and hazardous materials are packed labeled and handled according to Industry standards and applicable country laws.
  • Coordinate with third party companies’ equipment inspection, maintenance, refurbishing, repair and utilization. Ensures that all changes in equipment condition and statues reflected in the inventory sheets.
  • Ensure that the Genel yard and warehouse facilities are suitable for storage, movement, staging, inspection of drilling equipment, pipes, chemicals, etc. Coordinate with C&P. 
Education
  • College or High School Diploma 
  • APICS Certification a plus.
  • Location and Timing
  • Kurdistan Iraq, and other rig site locations as required. May also be asked to work at the Genel storage yards as needed.
  • Job Knowledge, Skills and Work Experience
  • Fluent in English.
  • Physically be able to inspect all equipment at the drilling rig location and warehouses. 
  • 10+ years of experience in material and inventory management on drilling and completion operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of drilling and completion tangibles, and rental tools.
  • Ex-service company packer or downhole tool representative is a plus. 
  • Good leadership, writing, and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Pragmatic proactive self-starter who can work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Preferred contracts and inventory management experience in KRI.
  • Preferred drilling and well testing equipment experience. 
  • Sensitivity working with different cultures and diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
