ROLE PURPOSE

Purchase Officer is responsible for buying products that are essential for our company’s day-to-day operations. You will review prices and quality and ensure optimal stock levels.
Purchasing Officer responsibilities include estimating vendors, negotiating contracts and preparing reports (e.g. on orders and costs.) For this role, you should have good knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to make sure you’re identifying the most profitable offer.
 
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
  • Research potential vendors and Request quotes and compare prices.
  • Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers.
  • Create and maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Buying stocks and products and handed to logistic department properly.
  • Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Review quality of purchased products.
  • Examine and review products and supplies to ensure quality.
  • Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases.
  • Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.
  • Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.

  • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage.
  • Attend trade shows and exhibitions to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Collaborate with financial team members on contracts, invoicing, and other financial matters.
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • BSc in Logistics, Business Administration or relevant field Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience and working knowledge in, Procurement, Logistics, Inventory & custom clearance.
  • Excellent command of English, Arabic and Kurdish (oral and written)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong supplier relationship management experience.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft office application suite
  • Experience in pricing and negotiation.
  • Strong commitment to working as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and able to balance multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of contract terms and conditions
  • Able to travel outside Iraq per request.
