Job title: Public Relations Specialist
Purpose of the position
Responsible for assisting with media and public relations tasks which concern the organization including content creation and press releases.
Key responsibilities & duties
- Produce and oversee all press releases
- Write, edit, and distribute press releases, feature stories, various promotional and government relations projects
- Define and develop a "content strategy" and ways to measure campaigns success
- Knowledge of, and ability to, write search engine friendly copy
- Ability to work across the organization and social media department to achieve SEO and business goals
- Manage intern(s) to do high level public relations work on behalf of the Company
- Understanding of how to pitch media, online influence and stakeholders on relevant Company news
- Help develop brand image and communications; assist in the development of policies and procedures conducive to good reputation management
- Assist with Media and Public Relations Department as needed with campaigns or events.
Skills and qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Mass Communications, or English
- +3 years of professional experience in a corporate or agency setting within areas of: Community/Public Relations, Reputation/Brand Management, Journalism, Social Media
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, Audio Visual, Social Media
- Knowledge of social networking and understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Past experience writing online articles and editing websites
