As Project Officer under guidance of the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the management and coordination of partner implemented projects in the sectors of health, livelihood and protection, ensuring and maintaining compliance with Malteser International and donor quality and accountability standards. You will work closely together with the Project and Administration Team under the overall responsibility of the Country Coordinator.
Responsibilities:

Monitor and evaluate implementation of the partner project activities and outputs according to the set targets (objectives, indicators, work plan), highlight and report any delays or problems and generate solutions in coordination with the Project Manager

Provide regular and proper project documentation according to Malteser International and donor standards; support and provide input for monthly and donor reports

Propose modification of projects in order to increase efficiency/ effectiveness of the activities

Identify potential new partners in close alignment with the Project Manager and the Program Coordinator, support assessments of new and existing partners of Malteser International to allow for capacity strengthening and diversification of the partner portfolio

In cooperation with the responsible units prepare and put into action monthly plans for monitoring missions and assure quality and timeliness of reports and provide Project Manager with field visit reports

Represent Malteser International towards the local population, authorities and partners and facilitate field visits of donors and other stakeholders
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s or Master degree in a field related to Project Management, international development and/or social sciences

At least 3 years of working experience in implementing humanitarian projects

Experience working within International NGOs is desirable
-
Excellent project cycle management skills, and proven ability of working in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders

Experience with implementing protection related activities is highly desirable; experience with humanitarian assistance in terms of cash based interventions or health related projects is desirable

Experience in working with German and international donors (AA, BMZ, EU, GIZ etc.) would be an asset
-
A strong team oriented approach with excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills

A high level of physical and mental resilience

Written and spoken English and Arabic skills required; Kurdish would be an asset

Good computer literacy

Willingness & ability to travel within Central Iraq to Ninewa and potentially other project regions.
Conditions:

Start Date: preferably August 2018 (starting date is subjet to project approval by donor)

Duty Station: Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, with frequent travel in the region

Duration of contract: 1 year, with possible extension
