ABOUT THE ROLE
To support this mission, we are looking for someone to lead our team in Erbil, Iraq, as a Program Manager for our upcoming coding bootcamp. This role is essential for the successful rollout of the program as she or he will be responsible for the project life-cycle from A to Z - always in coordination with the Re:Coded management team globally. The Program Manager will supervise a local team of socially and tech-driven individuals whilst being the engine behind small and big components of our work in Erbil. This is also an opportunity to play a significant role in the growth and shape of a humanitarian startup leveraging innovation and entrepreneurship to create education and livelihoods opportunities for youth in challenging contexts.
RESPONSIBILITIES

While supervising a small team based in Erbil, oversee day to day program activities to ensure they are implemented in accordance with work plan and budget.

Apply proven project management framework throughout project life-cycle, including assigning responsibility and ownership of project components, setting milestones for the completion of major tasks; breaking a complex project into manageable parts; organizing and sequencing tasks; managing budget, performance and donor expectations; and developing a project plan.

Personally drive project delivery and willingness to problem solve issues and actively remove obstacles to the completion of a project, including applying a "roll up the sleeves and fix it" attitude when necessary.

Closely manage progress against objectives, including highlighting roadblocks, managing the work-streams of others on the team, and driving full-team problem solving as required.

Effectively communicate the progress of projects across all stakeholders.

Adopt a learning mindset and take personal responsibility for continuous performance improvement, and for supporting the ongoing growth and success of the team against its broader objectives.

Work with the Re:Coded management team to track program budgets, expenditures and ensure accurate projections.

Document and communicate lessons learned on an ongoing basis with team.
QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in relevant field; or bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of progressive professional experience.

At least 3 years experience in project management and coordination.

Experience in developing and managing a range of partners and teams.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with different audiences.

Broad level understanding of programming (programming skills not necessary but a plus) or previous experience coordinating coding bootcamps is an asset.

Experience with communication tools such as Slack and Trello.

Experience with agile project management methodologies such as SCRUM.

Fluency in English; working knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
