Re:Coded is seeking an individual with entrepreneurial instincts and management experience to oversee our operations in Erbil, Iraq. The Program Manager is someone who is passionate about building a tech and entrepreneurial community from the ground-up, creating a strong movement and starting a team. S/he will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio that includes a vibrant co-working space, coding workshops, entrepreneurship activities and events. The Program Manager will manage a diverse team and play a pivotal role in donor relations, partnerships, fundraising and visibility for the organization.
 
Key Responsibilities
Team Management
  • Manage, coach and mentor a diverse team in Erbil.
  • Drive a culture of performance feedback and a growth mindset among team members.
  • Take the lead on communicating across teams and functions to foster collaboration and information sharing.
 
Program Oversight
  • Set up and manage the roadmap for learning programs (coding and entrepreneurship).
  • Manage processes for experimentation, issues, and change management for the programs.
  • Measures and reports on the business, operational, and information flow health of learning programs.
  • Develop and implement robust programs for non-technical skills learning.
 
Build strong processes and systems
  • Maintain highly-structured processes, systems and recommendations with a data-driven approach;
  • Maintain and implement “playbooks” - detailed manuals that document all relevant parts of the Re:Coded model of operation in Iraq; continually update and improve manuals in preparation for training other teams; and;
  • Build systems and processes that successfully inform global teams of all top line recurring indicators of success and that explain and troubleshoot any major outliers or obstacles to success.
 
Ensure the successful running of the business side of the co-working space
  • Help build a vibrant co-working space from the ground-up.
  • Immerse yourself in the local technology scene to build brand and credibility among key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the business development of the co-working space,
  • Work with our finance team to maintain budgets for the co-working space and keep track of expenditure.
  • Maintain the documentation for the running of a successful co-working space.
  • Work with the community and business development teams to attract new high-quality members and clients.
  • Nurtures the ecosystem through supporting with the organization of events, speaker sessions and meet-ups.
 
Support growth strategy and donor relations
  • Make recommendations to Re:Coded leadership about future programs.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders including government, the tech community and the private sector.
  • Work with the Re:Coded leadership team to design and execute Re:Coded’s growth strategy.
  • Fundraising among network, community and donors for small and large scale projects that align with Re:Coded’s mission.

Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience managing a small, diverse team.
  • At least 3 years of experience working on technology and/or entrepreneurship programs. Experience working in the Middle East, Africa or Asia is a strong asset.
  • Experience managing a co-working space or managing programs at a co-working space is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies and other similar tools
  • Relevant experience as a trainer is a strong asset.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to easily navigate all platforms within G-Suite and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of programming languages is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Kurdish and/or Arabic desirable.
