Purpose of the Position
A product promoter’s job is to demonstrate the value of an item to potential customers and answer any questions they have about it. They also typically sell the product right there on the spot, so they need to be knowledgeable of how to use the proper sales equipment.
Key Responsibilities & Duties

Demonstrate how a product is to be used and speak as an authority on how to use it, going over all the essential specifications

Answer questions customers might have about an item and provide additional information materials, which can include brochures, coupons or free samples

Maintain the cleanliness of your work area and use any downtime to ensure the product looks fantastic

Talk to customers about their needs, and if the product being demonstrated is not a good fit, recommend another item

Be a representative on behalf of the company at trade shows to speak to the general public about what the store has to offer

Research new products to see if there is anything the store should be selling to stay abreast with the competition

Increase brand awareness and work with the manager to identify potential marketing opportunities

Assume other responsibilities as needed, such as manning a cash register or restocking shelves
Skills and qualification

Previous experience working in retail

High school education or equivalent

Great customer service skills

Able to travel

Able to work a flexible schedule

Preferred knowledge of MS Office
