MSF Switzerland is looking for Nurse for suspect / positive Covid-19 cases to provide nursing care, treatment and follow-up of suspected and positive patients, according to doctors’ prescriptions, protocols applied in service and universal hygiene standards/precautions, in order to ensure the quality and continuity of care for the targeted Population. Furthermore, to trace the contact of the suspect cases and patients
Main tasks of the role:

Knowing, promoting, implementing and following up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control, security rules and other protocols and procedures in the medical premises and ensuring high standards of hygiene of his/her working environment. Respecting medical secrets and confidentiality at all times

Ensure the distribution of masks, gloves if required

Give advice and promote proper social distance and all the precaution needed among the staff to avoid to get infected

Support MSF workers hospitalized for COVID by ensuring they receive medications prescribed by the DoH Medical Doctor in charge of the facilities

Participate in health education of MSF workers infected and of their family

Carrying and supervising administrative procedures and documents by ensuring that all the staff under quarantine is using the temperature chart

Make contact with MSF staff in quarantine at least once a day to ensure they are following the rules: not going out, take the temperature and all the other measures describe in the document for quarantine

Reporting to the Project Medical Referent /Hospital Director support, any issues related to breach of the quarantine rules

Any other tasks requested by the Project Medical Referent/Hospital Director support or by the PMR /HD support

Trace the contacts of the suspects/positive staff, reporting the case to the referral doctor and the PMR support

Direct the suspected case for the test and ensure that the test was done

Report the result of the test to referral doctor and the PMR/HD support

MSF Specific Context Accountabilities:

Carry out assessments on IPC (Infection Prevention Control) in medical structures.

Participate to IPC training for all aspects related to paramedical activities
Requirements:
-
Essential: recognized Nurse Degree/ Diploma - Desirable Bachelor in Science of Nursing and specialization in ER

Desirable 2 years of previous experience and previous experience in other NGO’s
-
Desirable previous experience in emergency interventions
-
At least 1 year experience Mandatory as “internship“ with DoH
-
Demonstrable experience in supervising and training
-
Competences: Highly desirable previous experience in IPC (Infection Prevention Control).

Desirable English
-
Fluency in Arabic, and Kurdish is an asset
-
Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
-
For applicants with foreign certificates, Iraqi recognised state-diploma is required.

For applicants registered under DOH Ninewa, a non-objection letter should be provided only if the staff is selected.
