PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To provide leadership, and monitoring of Mental Health Staff in WV projects. Ensuring that there is proper management.
Maintains accurate patient records and provides input to weekly and monthly reports. Participate in the smooth functioning of facility and outreach teams.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality Project Implementation
Provide leadership, mentorship and technical guidance for WV’s MPHSS staff.
Provide training (especially PM+) and other capacity-building activities so as to ensure that WV MHPSS programming meets the required technical expectations/is in line with relevant programming guidance and therapeutic protocols.
Conduct monitoring of MPHSS staff, including sampling cases and checking if the cases were managed as per relevant therapeutic protocols so as to assure quality management of mental health and related conditions.
Establish and maintain a reporting system for MHPSS, ensuring that reporting is timely and technically accurate.
Give technical input during project design, and M&E assessment, (including research etc) so that the project meets technical expectations.
Analysis and assessment of progress. Make sure that the objective of improved psychological well-being is achieved, and provide solutions to the difficulties during the project implementation.
Lead the research component on measuring the outcomes of Livelihood + MHPSS integration.
Represent WV at different MPHSS Coordination forums such as the MPHSS, CP, and GBV working groups.
Monitoring and Reporting
Regularly track project activities in coordination with MEAL Submit weekly/monthly report to the project manager/coordinator Based on the donor requirement, support project manager/coordinator to submit the required donor report.
Planning and Budgeting
Support project manager to administer project budget to ensure accurate and timely budget spending
Follow up and coordination with other departments e.g. Procurement, Security, Finance, Fleet, PDQA etc.
Perform other duties as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Experience in MHPSS.
2. Previous experience in NGO work.
3. Experience working with IDPs, returnees and conflict-affected persons
4. Project Management.
5. Clinical Psychologist, Educational Psychologist, Psychiatrist or any health/Social science training with
experience in MPHSS health.
6. Certified ToT trainer on Problem Management Plus (PM+) for groups.
7. Native Fluency in English, and Arabic.
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
9. Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility, motivation, and maturity
10. Willingness to work in basic conditions and travel if needed
11. Good knowledge of quality standards and quality controls related to medical practice
12. Knowledge of IASC MPHSS guidelines, mhGAP, PM+ and other MPHSS models.
Work Environment
The position is based in Ninawa
The position requires the ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 60% of the time.
Be prepared to travel to implementation sites and regional, and global meetings as required.
The position is preferred to be in Ninawa
