The overall purpose of the job: 
To provide medical cover while female teams are working in the field. 
 

Detailed Responsibilities: 

• She is aware of the general concept of operations 

• She is responsible for the correct and timely diagnosis, treatment and advice on medical problems of team  members 

• Any medical problems encountered which fall outside of the limits of his training are to be referred up to  suitably qualified medical personnel. 

• She has easy access to the area in which team members are working. 

• Ensure that all medical stores and equipment are clean and serviceable. 

• Ensure that all medical equipment is placed in a secure location at the end of a working period. 

• Ensure that any damage to, or discrepancy in, medical stores and equipment is reported to the MAT team  leader and Senior Medic at the earliest possible opportunity. 

• She carries out any other operational tasks as directed to meet operational requirements Safeguarding 

• Work in compliance with/uphold MAG's Safeguarding framework - Policy on Personal Conduct,  Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy, Dignity at Work Policy, Reporting Malpractice  (Whistleblowing) Policy, Equal Opportunities Policy and Policy on Modern Slavery 

• Challenge any unacceptable behaviour and report any safeguarding concerns that happen to them and  others during their work in MAG 

General Responsibilities 

• Work within the framework of MAG’s core values 

• She is expected to maintain a professional conduct in line with MAG’s core values since her actions  represent MAG. 

• Contribute to other fundraising initiatives where appropriate. 

• Participate in meetings where relevant.  

• Understand and uphold the standards outlined in MAG’s Safeguarding Framework, acting with due  care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with MAG’s work  and reporting concerns if they do arise. 

• Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development programs. • Undertake any other duties as may be required by the line manager. 

Person selection criteria  

The post holder should be able to demonstrate the following attributes: 

• An understanding of NGOs and a commitment to humanitarian work. 

• The candidate should be educated to diploma level in health. 

• The candidate should pass MAG’s medical training course.
