Job Description
  • To provide MAG Iraq Programme with logistics support.
  • The Mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance and upkeep of all MAG Iraq Logistics Center Vehicles, and Generators including VHF – HF Radios.
 
Detailed Responsibilities
  • Performing repairs and services for MAG ELC Vehicles and VHF– HF Radios to Ensure Vehicles and assets are in a safe, roadworthy condition at all times.
  • Undertake all servicing, inspection, repair and overhaul of MAG ELC Vehicles and VHF– HF Radios to Ensure Vehicles, VHF– HF Radios under the direction of the Logistics Manager & Logistics Officer.
  • Using ELC tools properly and keeping them clean and tidy.

  • Inspect Vehicles and VHF– HF Radios properly and report to the Logistics Manager all his findings in the vehicle.
  • Work safely, and in accordance with the guidelines set by Logistics management staff.
  • Other duties required as directed by Logistics management staff.
 
Selection Criteria 
The post holder should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
  • An understanding of NGOs and a commitment to humanitarian work
  • Strong communication skills, and written spoken English preferable
  • Supervisory skills; able to communicate effectively with colleagues from different programme functions
  • Organised and able to work under pressure
  • Sound record keeping and administration skills
  • Accuracy with figures
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, including database management
  • Able to drive.
