ROLE PURPOSE:
The Logistics Assistant is responsible for supporting Logistics services and systems for Chaloos company in Iraq. This position will support the Logistics Team with the various tasks listed below. The Logistics Assistant will be expected to ensure adherence to Chaloos Logistics policies and procedures at all times.
 
 
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
  • Ensure a smooth operation in the primary distribution process (Distribution Requirements Planning) to deliver high levels of Customer Service towards Distributor.
  • Communication Skill: They should have excellent communication skill (both written and verbal) to effectively negotiate with carriers, suppliers, custom brokers, and customers
  • Coordinate shipment of finished goods from the factory to the warehouse(s).
  • Attend tasks to ensure that goods are shipped and delivered in a timely manner
  • Oversee the transportation of products from one location to another, such as from loading docks to warehouses or warehouses to stores.
  • Study client or customer needs and manage inventory based on these needs
  • Identify and evaluate third party service providers who can supplement the capacity.
  • Interface with key external providers of processes, methodologies and tools for new development.
  • Composure: Is cool under pressure; does not become defensive or irritated when times are tough; is considered mature; can be counted on to hold things together during tough times; can handle stress.
  • The ability to meet sometimes short deadlines and to be detail-oriented are also essential
  • Have knowledge in Imports, Exports goods.
  • Budgeting & Planning Drive for Results: Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully; is constantly and consistently one of the top performers; very bottom-line oriented; steadfastly pushes self and others for results.
  • Develop delivery schedules and drop shipment strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and files of inventory usage.
  • Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems
  • Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel
  • Implement discipline and termination procedures
  • Prepare and present staff reports and other correspondence as appropriate and necessary
  • Assist with budget preparation and administration
  • Coordinate warehousing and storeroom activities with outside agencies and organizations
  • Discover new trends and innovations in the fields of warehousing and storage programs

 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • BA/BSc degree required
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience and working knowledge in ocean fright, Procurement, Logistics, Inventory & custom clearance.
  • Excellent command of English, Arabic and Kurdish (oral and written)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong supplier relationship management experience.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft office application suite
  • Experience in pricing and negotiation.
  • Strong commitment to working as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and able to balance multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of contract terms and conditions
