A. Responsibilities
The junior professional provides support for:
-
The Head of Field of Action with carrying out specific administrative and organizational tasks which are required for planning and conducting the activities
-
other technical experts within the Field of Action with the preparation, implementation, and documentation of their project activities
-
carrying out specific tasks in connection with knowledge management for the project
-
maintaining a good flow of communication and information within the Field of Action across the various project locations
The junior professional performs the following tasks:
B. Tasks
1- Coordination and monitoring
The junior professional:
-
regularly draws up a list of forthcoming meetings, events, project activities, deadlines, etc. and presents this regularly at team meetings;
-
supports project monitoring and updates information on project progress, documents and reports regularly on the status of results;
-
assists with recording and documenting the results of all activities;
-
assists with planning, coordinating and documenting meetings, workshops, seminars and other project activities with a focus on technical aspects;
-
assists short-term experts assigned to the Field of Action in completing their tasks, especially coordinates appointments during missions and draws up travel schedules.
2- Research and technical support
The junior professional:
-
in consultation with the Head of Field of Action, prepares and carries out small research projects (developing survey instruments, collecting and analyzing data).
3- Knowledge management
The junior professional:
-
assists in drawing up reports and translations;
-
assists in communicating, updating and collecting information related to the Field of Action;
-
organizes and updates project documentation in DMS;
-
assists with PR work for the Field of Action.
4- General obligations
The junior professional:
-
is familiar with GIZ planning, implementation and reporting procedures, and their changes;
-
represents the interest of the GIZ project and always acts on its behalf;
-
carries out important tasks for the project, even if these are not explicitly cited in the job description.
5- Other duties/additional tasks
The junior professional:
-
assists other experts, if necessary as a translator;
-
performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.
C. Required qualifications, competences and experience
Qualifications
-
university degree (bachelor) in a relevant field (e.g. economics or social sciences, engineering, business administration, international cooperation...)
Professional experience
-
initial experience (internship or similar), ideally in the field of international cooperation
Other knowledge, additional competences
-
good working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
-
strong organizational competence
-
reliable, autonomous and communicative personality
-
fluent Arabic and English language proficiencies (written and spoken), knowledge of Kurdish or German is an advantage
-
willingness to travel within Iraq and occasionally abroad for limited periods of time
-
willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
