Job Summary:
The Junior Drilling and Completion Engineer will develop field and office skills so that within two years they will effectively contribute to Drilling, Workover, Plug and Abandonment, Completion, Well Testing Operations Supervision and Engineering in the KRI operations.
The position will act as support to the Drilling/Completion Supervisor on location and the Senior
Drilling / Completion Engineer in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
Initial Short-Term Responsibilities:
• Spend significant time at the rig and in field operations to gain practical well site experience.
• Provide daily office and engineering support to the Drilling and Completion team in the office and on well locations including updating plots, developing, and maintaining daily electronic records and notebooks, other activities as needed.
• Responsible for performing appropriate level engineering studies to ensure optimum well design and execution.
• Assist in the planning for future wells and ensure required materials and services are available in the country and allocated as required.
• Develop strong HSE skills during the well engineering planning and execution phases.
Training to be Provided:
• HSE training for all personnel and required for well site work such as Level 2 H2S.
• IWCF Level 1 to 4 well Control Training.
• Familiarisation and knowledge seeking visits to vendor and service company facilities e.g. mud and cement laboratories, machining and threading vendors etc.
• Working with specialists such as Genel QAQC Supervisor to develop entry level competencies in inspection and equipment qualification.
• Drilling, Completion and Well Servicing online, self-study and directed study.
Longer-Term Responsibilities
• Support the ongoing well activities with assisting in the oversight of the daily drilling Workover, Plug and Abandonment, Completion, Well Testing operations at the wellsite.
• Provide ongoing technical assistance to implement the drilling program and changes to drilling procedures, MOCs, risk assessments, etc.
• Conduct delegated well engineering planning for upcoming wells (offset well review, develop drilling program, work with service companies work products, etc).
• Follow up of the performance of the well with respect to established KPIs, End of Well Reports.Track service company performances and review reports of non-conformance events.
• Participate in peer assists, technical reviews, DWOPs, CWOPS, TWOP, Spud meetings, BARs, AARs, etc. as a learning and development experience.
• Responsible for performing appropriate level engineering studies to ensure optimum well design and execution.
• Assist in reviews of the draft Basis of Design (BOD), Drilling and Completion Programs from Genel and JV partners (TTOPCO, DNO, etc).

Skills and Qualification:
Education:
• B.S. Engineering Degree (Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Preferred)
• Native Kurdish with fluency in written and oral English.
Work Experience:
• Zero to Two years of Drilling, Completion, Workover or Well Test experience.
• Service company or rig contractor experience at engineer level would be a plus.
Requirements:
• Will be expected to pass the Level 4 IWCF Well Control (Surface Stack or Well Intervention) within two years of joining the team.
• Willingness to spend significant time at the rig and in field operations to gain practical well site experience. Experience of field and site work during previous work experience would be a plus.
• Demonstrate appropriate writing, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Pragmatic engineer who can demonstrate the ability to work independently and, in a team, environment with appropriate supervision.
• Sensitivity working with different cultures and diverse backgrounds.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft applications.
