The Iraq Community Resilience Initiative – Ta’afi (ICRI-Ta’afi) is a United States Agency for International Development Office of Transition Initiatives (USAID/OTI) program implemented by Chemonics International in Iraq. ICRI-Ta’afi aims to increase stability in Iraq by supporting accelerated recovery in conflict-affected areas, improvement of the public’s perception of local leadership and strengthened the social fabric of Iraqi communities.
 
Reporting 
The IT Assistant/ Help Desk Engineer reports to the Information Technology and Security Specialist. 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Addresses employee-reported IT issues in a professional and courteous manner over the phone, via email, and in person. 
  • Serves as the primary point of contact through the entire IT incident lifecycle - from the first point of contact through to resolution, proactively keeping the end-user informed of progress. 
  • Provides support to end-user applications in the Windows 10 environment such as Microsoft Office 365 and other applications employees may use for their daily work. 
  • Configures laptops and sets up computers for new employees. 
  • Inspects newly purchased laptops, mobile phones, and other IT hardware such as monitors, etc. 
  • Identifies and troubleshoots printer or laptop hardware issues 
  • Identifies patterns of issues and reports them to the IT and Security Specialist. 
  • Maintains a complete and accurate tracker with a record of all issues reported and the outcome. 
  • Supports with other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. 
 
Qualifications 
  • B.A. in computer science or equivalent education and work experience. 
  • Minimum of one to two years of hands-on experience with hardware and software troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle simple, routine tasks, and operational issues. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, with excellent customer service skills. 
  • Strong administrative skills, word processing abilities, and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to follow standard practices and procedures, receive general instruction and supervision on work progress, and make significant contribution to end results. 
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem-solving, and initiative to learn new skills. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of networking and system administration principles of Active Directory, SMS, and modern Windows environments. 
  • Ability to interface with all levels of employees and management. 
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft applications required. Knowledge of other software including SmartSheets, DocuSign, FormStack, or other services preferred. 
  • Fluent English and Arabic required.

  • Contract duration: 3 Month’s 
  • Salary: The salary is based on the ICRI Ta’afi local salary scale
