The internship is ideal for students or recent graduates as it gives the opportunity to get to know GIZ’s work in Iraq, thereby conducting capacity development through on the job training. Interns should generally work on a specific subject that gives them insight into the technical and development related issues addressed by the project or program or that helps them to understand the tasks performed and services provided by the GIZ Office. GIZ Iraq offers to all interns an appropriate expense allowance that is not a salary for services rendered but should cover expenses of the intern on a lump sum basis. The expense allowance provided by GIZ is 600 USD per month. The internship is a full time position of 40 working hours per week for 4 to 6 month. Public Holidays are respected as well as individual holidays are occurred according to GIZ rules. The internship does not constitute employment with GIZ.
The intern would support the work of the GIZ project “Stabilization Support to Iraq (SSI)” which aims at stabilization of the IS-liberated areas in Iraq and the return of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP). Thereby the project supports Iraqi partners in improving their capacity to act in the liberated areas. Amongst others this includes the procurement and delivery of machinery for the restoration of basic services (water, sanitation, electricity, road network) for the Governorate of Ninewah including Mosul City.
The internship will be based in the GIZ Office in Erbil.
