MAG is co-laureate of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize and has been operating in Iraq since 1992 and  is operational in five governorates. MAG’s extensive experience and longevity in Iraq and deliver diverse  programmes across emergency and development response projects, including support, training and  collaboration with national NGOs. 
Overall purpose of the job

The Information Management Officer, in line with programme requirements, will be organization’s focal point in  overseeing the identification, collection, verification, dissemination and analysis of mine action data and will be  responsible for all the technical/administrative support and coordination with all central government’s relevant  departments, DMA in particular. The incumbent will also be responsible for the day to day coordination with DMA on  the paperwork. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Act as program’s IM focal point in representing the organization to central government departments namely,  DMA. 
  • Review all internal reports submitted by HO IMU; check if all information is correct, complete and accurate • Liaise with PIM and HO IMU to address identified mistakes in timely manner and update internal/external  reports accordingly 
  • Submit hard and soft copies of reports to local authorise in timely manner (under supervision of PIM) and  ensure the data are entered to IMSMA 
  • When required conduct regular visits to central government relevant departments, namely DMA, to ensure  smooth and professional relationship are established and queries from DMA are answered. • Ensure Task orders requests from MAG are fully compliant, submitted, received and approved by DMA • Follow up with the submitted task orders and keep HO updated about any issues or progress that may come  up in the process. 
  • Consistently visit the DMA office to support completion of any administration directly connected to MAG Iraq’s  work in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of MAG's field operations 
  • Ensure queries on task order requests are well clarified to NMAA and TOs are issued in a timely manner • Issued task orders are well archived, organized and shared with HO IMU on time 
  • When required pay visits to Erbil HO to address the department’s progresses, problems and issues with PIM. • Visits to MAG’s operational areas when required to understand data collection and progresses. • Inform the PIM about any inaccuracies in submitted reports or data 
  • Ensure that copy of all reports submitted to government are fully compliant with and accepted by local  authority. 
  • Ensure all received data and reports are correctly stored on online data storage 
  • Perform IMO activities: the identification, collection, verification, dissemination and analysis data. • Follow up with PIM to ensure accurate and timely data recording and information flow to IMSMA, rectify  occurring issues, and provide guidance as needed 
  • Keep the PIM updated about any change in the business regulations with DMA to ensure full compliance. • Ensure sharing and documenting an institutional knowledge and good practices within IMU team • Identify and implement data management procedures to meet the needs of NMAA in Bagdad, in liaises with  PIM 
  • he job description can include, but not limited to, the above-mentioned tasks; subject to any additional tasks  required by the line manager.

  • Contribute to other fundraising initiatives where appropriate. 
  • Participate in meetings where relevant.  
  • Work in compliance with MAG’s Policies. 
  • Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development programmes. • Undertake any other duties as may be required. 
Person selection criteria  
  • An understanding of NGOs and a commitment to humanitarian work 
  • Fluency in both written and spoken Arabic and English Languages are mandatory, Kurdish language is  considered as an asset. 
  • Flexible and adaptable to any situation 
  • Possess good working habits, analysis skills and accuracy 
  • Ability to work under pressure and long hours 
  • Excellent computers skills in the Windows, Excel, Access 
  • Willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment 
  • Completing additional tasks assigned by PIM 
  • Previous experience of working for a government department is desired
