QANDIL is a Swedish non-profit, non-political, non-religious humanitarian aid organization that was founded in 1991 in Stockholm, Sweden. Having continuously operated in the Kurdistan Region ever since, QANDIL’s main priorities of work are construction and infrastructure activities, refugee and IDP initiatives, health, water, sanitation and hygiene, and capacity building.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the design and implementation of the hygiene promotion program and materials.
  • Assist in the supervision of hygiene promotion programs activities.
  • Monitoring of hygiene promotors and training them about promotional subject.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly field reporting for the hygiene for the INGO and the donor.
  • Work towards the achievement of the project goals through effective lateral relations and teamwork.
  • Build and maintain effective professional working relationships with government authorities, humanitarian/development organizations and community members.
  • Conducting community meeting on weekly basis for rising community information about different hygiene issue with reporting community complain and concerns.
  • Promote safe WASH practices, including appropriate use and maintenance of WASH facilities and services specifically water supply, Latrines, and Hand washing facilities.
  • Carry out informal and formal training sessions (according to identified needs) and evaluate the impacts of this training.
  • Participate in gathering and compiling of project information (reports, assessments, KAP surveys, monitoring & Evaluation).
  • Identifying gaps and needs of the community through KAP survey and community meeting with reporting it.
  • Any other duties assigned by direct supervisors.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor or diploma degree. Preferred in public health.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in the NGOs. 
  • Excellent communication skills (empathy, knowledge sharing, participative approach
  • methodologies).
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility.
  • Fluency in Kurdish, Arabic and English languages
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Good planning, reporting and organization skills.
  • Experience in community development, health, social mobilization in the
  • humanitarian/development field.
  • Well knowledge and experience in computer software’s (Microsoft office package, Photo shop,
  • open data kit program (ODK) for collecting survey data).
  • Prefer previous experience in community-based work with NGOs and/or international
  • organizations in the fields of hygiene, water, sanitation or behavior change.
