Main purpose of the job: 
Performing tasks related to hygiene and disinfection according to protocols applied in the Covid 19 centre, knowing and applying specific hygiene protocols and security rules related to Covid 19 context.
Accept and apply MSF principles, values and internal regulations. Apply MSF protocols and adhere to the rules implemented by MSF within MSF Covid 19 centre. 
Accountabilities: 
  • Maintaining clean and disinfected, the infrastructures allocated to his/her position including the furniture, doors, walls and floor and some medical material (rooms of patients, mortuary, waiting room, staff room, storage room, kitchen, bathroom and latrines) applying specific protocols and using the tools and equipment provided. Cleaning floors, equipment, beds, toilets and showers according to protocols and schedule
  • Collecting and evacuating waste produced by medical structures to the designated site, previously sorted by medical staff and emptying out dustbins as often as necessary to ensure an efficient quality of care and safe environment
  • Raising awareness on hygiene and sanitation measures amongst patients, staff, to use correctly the water distribution points, toilets, hand washing points and washing areas in collaboration with the nursing and health promotion team
  • Ensuring proper use, storage and maintenance of the equipment and tools provided. Ensuring availability of hygiene and sanitation products, and draws up orders for on-going needs
  • Filling all containers every morning (hand washing points) and refilling when half full and for hand washing, ensuring soap is available
  • Reporting any repair or maintenance work needed related to hygiene to the supervisor, as well as any relevant information related to his/her responsibilities
 
Specific requirements for the role: 
  • Essential Fluency in Arabic, desirable basic level of English 
  • Desirable: basic literacy skills
  • Desirable: experience in a health facility and/or in hygiene maintenance

MSFCH will manage COVID-19 Intensive Care Facility in the Al Salam Teaching Hospital, Mosul, in order to support DOHN’s response to COVID-19 pandemic by providing lifesaving intensive care for COVID-19 confirmed severe cases.
 
ADDITIONAL INFO
As a part of the MSFCH team, you will be directly exposed to potential contact with COVID-19 patients. Therefore, all interested candidates must ensure not to have any medical pre-existing condition that would make them more vulnerable in case of contamination of the virus.
 
COVID 19
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth. People with the following pre-existing medical conditions are more vulnerable to develop complications from this disease:
 - Age > 60 years old
- Obesity and Severe Obesity – BMI >30 and ≥ 40
- Diabetes
- Cardiovascular Disease, including hypertension, coronary disease, arrhythmia, heart failure
- Chronic lung disease (including asthma, COPD, TB), heavy smokers
- Chronic kidney or liver disease, including Hepatitis B/C
- Pregnancy
- Immunosuppression/immunocompromising conditions such as:
- Cancer treatment 
- Bone marrow or solid organ transplant
- Immunodeficiencies
- HIV/AIDS
- Prolonged use of corticosteroids or other immunosuppressants
