MSF Switzerland is looking for General Surgeon for our pool in Nablus Hospital, West Mosul, to support surgery activities, ensure pre and post-operative surgical care in close collaboration with Gynaecologists and medical staff in the emergency room and maternity ward in order to improve patients’ health conditions.
Main tasks of the role:

Coordinates with the gynaecologists all difficult or high risk cases that will need their presence

Undertakes pre-operative consultations, evaluating the surgical risks with the anaesthetist and/or other medical staff involved, and obtaining the patient’s signed consent to operate.

Carries out emergency and programmed surgical intervention following MSF protocols and policies

Carries out post-operative clinical care and ward rounds collaborating with the anaesthetist, the OT nurses and ward staff to ensure compliance with MSF protocols and rational use of medicines.

Supports other medical teams/wards when needed (i.e. midwifes and obstetric teams in the maternity ward, etc.)
Requirements:

Essential: recognized diploma in Surgical speciality

Minimum 3 years’ experience as General Surgeon

At least 1 year experience Mandatory as “internship“ with DoH
-
Flexibility (for working hours)

Essential: Fluency in Arabic , English is desirable

Desirable previous experience in MSF or other NGO’s

For applicants with foreign certificates, Iraqi recognised state-diploma is required.

For applicants registered under DOH Ninewa, a non-objection letter should be provided only if the staff is selected.
