A.  Responsibilities
  • Participate in the process of vehicles selection for GIZ (testing and evaluating)
  • Participate in the evaluation of the drivers’ recruitment process.
  • Oversee and controls all movements of GIZ cars.
  • Ensure safely and responsibilities performing all official travels using official vehicles.
  • Supervise and follow up the process of repairing and maintain the cars according to maintenance schedule
  • Taking account of all available information on road conditions, accessible routes and locations.
  • Develop/run/analyze and control operational reports and fuel consumption.
  • Research and develop specifications for vehicles, equipment, supplies and materials.
  • Maintaining all records, registration, licenses, insurances and annual inspection (PVI) for cars according to the local traffic department laws.
  • Performing regular inspection on cars to ensure the safety criteria.
  • Advise and remind the drivers to respect the rules and regulations of the local traffic instructions.
  • Conduct regular trainings for the drivers to improve general driving and maintenance skills as well as updating information.
  • In case of accidents directly contact the local traffic committee and ask drivers for accident report and assisting in report writing when needed.
 
B.  Tasks
  • Organisations of Drivers
The fleet manages makes sure that drivers
  • Have knowledge about GIZ driver’s policy and rules and are updated regularly with relevant information from GIZ or traffic department.
  • Participate in a drivers security training and first aid course
  • Have valid driving licenses
  • Organize and coordinate all travels with GIZ cars well and according GIZ code of conduct
  • Complete the vehicle log books correctly and conscientiously in accordance with GIZ standards.
  • Service
  • Is responsible of checking the log books, including calculation of fuel consumption
  • Insures and documents that project vehicles are in good condition and records maintenance.
  • Reports need for service and carries out minor repairs.
  • Organizes the Duty Driver schedule to ensure a sufficient 24hrs driver service
  • Immediately reports all involvement of the project or office vehicles in accident, including minor accidents, damage, loss or theft of vehicle fitting and keeps records of this.
  • Sets up maintenance/inspection schedules in ensure each vehicle is kept in top condition
  • Knowledge management
  • Uses all available information (including current radio news on traffic conditions) to update daily knowledge of road conditions, current passable routs and locations, also share these information with other office fleet managers.
  • Other duties/additional tasks
  • Performs other duties and tasks at the request of the management.
 
C.  Required qualifications, competences and experience
Qualifications
  • Secondary School education.
  • Holds a valid driving license.
Professional experience
  • At least 1 to3 years of work experience as fleet manager with reference.
  • No major accident in the past 3 years.
Other knowledge, additional competences
  • Good knowledge in English, fluent in Kurdish.
  • Discipline and punctuality, resilience and patience.
  • Familiarity with Duhok governorate (Duhok, Sumel, Zakho, IDP and refugee camps).
  • Appropriate appearance and attire.
  • Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed
