QANDIL is a Swedish non-profit, non-political, non-religious humanitarian aid organization that was founded in 1991 in Stockholm, Sweden. Having continuously operated in the Kurdistan Region ever since, QANDIL’s main priorities of work are construction and infrastructure activities, refugee and IDP initiatives, health, water, sanitation and hygiene, and capacity building.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the monthly closing process of the donors’ projects;
  • Lead the monthly closing process with the HQ in Stockholm;
  • Verifying the monthly supporting documents, and ensure that documentation are complete
  • and accurate and signatures are valid according to authorization matrix;
  • Approving payment (contractor’s payment, cash assistance, cash salaries, etc.) and ensures
  • that they are properly delivered;
  • Completing the donor financial reports and submit to the Finance Director;
  • Maintain and update a list of all projects and their financial status, monitoring payment to
  • contractor on completion percentage determined within agreement between QANDIL and
  • contractor, follow up with procurement department and other field worker to ensure
  • percentage of completions;
  • Develop capacity for the accountants in the sub offices through on job training and solve any
  • issue related to them;
  • Follow up on the sub offices liquidity needs;
  • Assist in the annual audit process with external auditors;
  • Entering Daily Transactions into Fortnox System (or similar system);
  • Train the staff to work on Fortnox (or similar system);
  • Testing system changes and upgrades by inputting new date, reviewing output,
  • communicating any errors or deficiencies to the system controllers in Sweden;
  • Verifying entered transactions and account date by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or
  • reentering date; purging files to eliminate duplication of date;
  • Reporting periodic records and reconcile the totals with bank statements, financial, reports,
  • cash counts, etc., and make needed corrections to transactions;
  • Meeting deadlines set by the Finance Director;
  • Proposing any suggestion to develop Fortnox (or similar system) to the Finance Director.


    Required Qualification & Skills;
  • Bachelor degree in Accountancy or Finance;
  • Minimum two years of experience in finance positions, preferably in NGOs;
  • Fluency in English, Arabic and Kurdish Languages;
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Finance or Accountancy System)
  • Time Management Skills, Analytical & Attention to detail and accuracy skills.
