Overview of position

Provide support in management of all Cash For Work activities in selected areas. Supervision of beneficiaries, project selection, project assets, and liaison with community and government. Oversee all administrative matters related to CfW activities like timesheets, payment schedules.   

Role objectives

  • Liaise with local Directorate, Ministry, social affairs and local directorate of ministry of migration  for identification of beneficiaries according to concentration of returnees and degree of vulnerability measured by our client's Displacement Tracking Matrix.
  • Initiate continuous consultation with Local Coordination Committee (LCC) on selection of beneficiaries and sub-projects.   
  • Supervise day-to-day activities of worksite teams which include up to 150 workers, and identify team leaders for smaller groups of 20 to 50 workers.
  • Liaise with Municipality Directorates on area selection for sub-projects. 
  • Plan and monitor field activities and beneficiary follow-ups
  • Act as community mobilizer and Coordinate community engagement activities with local authorities.
  • Coordinate with local authorities to ensure selected areas are certified as clear of unexploded ordinates (UXOs) before commencing works.  
  • Ensure work sites are not included in other agencies coverage to avoid duplication.
  • Prepare cash distribution plan for beneficiaries for each subproject in selected areas in governorate, and assist cash field officers to prepare reports as needed.  
  • Work closely with project associates and team leaders to ensure delivery of project resources.
  • Provide responses to Ministry on grievances of cash workers.
  • Assist in procurement of materials for cash for work project.
  • Complete any required monitoring requested by Program Manager.

Key competencies

• Bachelor degree in development studies, sciences, public administration, business management or other relevant field. 
• A minimum of 2 years of directly relevant experience in project implementation. 
• Experience in project implementation and monitoring is required; 
• Experience in managing and organizing events including excellent organization skills, ability to follow deadlines, accuracy and attention to details. 
• Knowledge and previous experience of conflict contexts is an asset; 
• Proven capacity to interact with a variety of stakeholders, including non-governmental partners, and other UN agencies. 
• Knowledge of computer programs with full command of Word and Excel.

Team management

  • This role does not require team management
