We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized and results-driven Construction Manager to manage and oversee all aspects of our projects, including meeting with project partners, managing supervisors and teams. You will be contributing to the planning and design of the project, allocating resources to each of the project's stages, overseeing the engineering processes, ensuring all objectives and standards are met, and finding solutions to problems as they arise. You will ensure all equipment and materials are available on site as needed.
To be successful, you should ensure the project is planned in a manner that meets and exceeds all objectives, and ensure it is completed on time and within budget. Top candidates will be skillful delegators, adept at identifying crucial aspects of the project and prioritizing them— while staying on top off all other aspects of the project. You should demonstrate extensive experience as a construction engineer/manager and the ability to provide leadership and a management that results in constructions that are cost-effective and structurally sound.
  • Managing the planning and design stages of construction projects.
  • Contributing technical expertise to project drawings and designs.
  • Performing cost calculations and preparing financial projections.
  • Preparing work schedules in collaboration with the project manager.
  • Liaising between contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Overseeing construction engineering processes.
  • Performing regular tests on materials and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Ensuring that the construction project is completed on time and within budget.
  • Documenting processes and keeping detailed construction logs.
  • Presenting construction project progress updates to clients and senior managers.
  • Meeting with engineers, architects, and subcontractors on an ongoing basis regarding project objectives and progress.
  • Managing and motivating site foremen and teams.
  • Ensuring all equipment needed is available on site.
  • Ensuring budget costs relating to wages, contractors, materials, and equipment are not exceeded.
  • Approving purchase requests.
  • Ensuring the construction process starts and ends on time, and ensuring daily and weekly deadlines are met.
  • Ensuring compliance with environment, health, safety, and all other regulations.
  • Issuing Site Instructions and reports including Variations Orders to project management.
  • Conducting ongoing quality inspections.
  • Ensure that team members complete tasks according to the schedule.
  • Ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track.
  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers.
  • Directing a multi-disciplinary team
  • Identify if staff members require further training and provide this training.
  • Submit project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards.
  • Prepare status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
  • Ensure project communication plan is followed. 
  • Obtain customer acceptance of project deliverables.
  • Manage customer satisfaction within project transition period.
  • Travel is necessary to visit sites and staying on the project for a designated duration.  
  • Working hours are typically standard office hours, but strict deadlines mean longer hours, weekends and being on-call are all possible and expected.
Skills and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, civil engineering technology, or similar.
  • Degree in Construction Management.
  • Proven experience in camp construction projects, 200 men and above. 
  • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, Projects.
  • Advance proficiency in construction management software, such as Primavera.
  • 10+years construction site management experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Skilled at solving conflict between different project members and staff.
  • Outstanding negotiation, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction industry regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership, project management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Great mathematical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Attention to details – highly detail oriented.
  • Negotiations skills.
  • Able to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Understanding of ERP implementation.
  • Experience overseeing a construction project.
  • Budget management experience. 
  • Writing tenders, RFQs, requisitions… etc.
  • Understanding, and pricing tenders, RFQs, requisitions… etc.
  • Ability to multitask. 
  • Fluent in English.
