Coaches are responsible for planning, organizing and delivering an appropriate range of sports activities and programs for individuals and teams.
  • Teaching relevant skills, tactics and techniques.
  • Monitoring and enhancing performance by providing tuition, encouragement and
constructive feedback.
  • Identifying strengths and weaknesses: understand the strengths of the players and inspire them to overcome their weaknesses by using different types of coaching styles to add to
their confidence level.
  • Advising about health and lifestyle issues.
  • Motivate and support the participants to give highest level performance by resolving their
personal or professional issues if any.
  • Developing playing programs: motivate the sports persons to participate in different contests to develop and prepare themselves and get an edge over the competitors.
  • Assist with sports promotion/development: advise, guide and counsel the athletes on their
nutrition, health, safety, and the use of various sports equipment.
  • Arranging competition for vacancies varies: popular sports (such as volleyball and table tennis).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Communication skills: effectively communicate the rules and procedures of the relevant
sports by conducting practical sessions to enable better learning.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Assess, evaluate the performance of the athletes during the sessions and contests.
  • Deal with situations which are tense, nerve wrecking and ensure that a positive
environment remains in the team.
  • Demonstrate high levels of consistency and self-control.
  • A bachelor's degree in sport. A master's degree with a demonstrated work experience would prove to be an advantage.
  • Experience in teaching mixed ability groups required.
  • Experience teaching IDPs and/or refugees highly desirable.
  • Fluency in Arabic and Kurdish is required. English skill is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to create interesting and engaging material for groups of learners required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and willingness to share knowledge and experience.
  • Proactive, motivated and adaptable individual.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
