Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Registration team in the camps and non-camp settings to identify vulnerable individuals and conduct proper vulnerability assessment
  • Participate in and conduct field visits to assess and identify vulnerable individuals
  • Offer general information and counseling support to the people of concern and make referrals to lawyers, civil society organizations and local authorities.
  • Act as a focal point on women’s and children’s issues, facilitating informal groups of IDP/Refugee/returnee women and children to meet, discuss issues and form support networks and assisting where possible
  • Network among organizations offering services, especially for women and children, PSN and EVI and publicize these to the UNHCR persons of concern.
  • Liaise with other team members when dealing with cases that need both legal and social welfare interventions with a focus on the following cases: divorce, inheritance, marriage, education, social welfare, pension, detentions and children issues.
  • Ensure timely and adequate follow up for every case referred. Within 2-5 days for urgent cases and within 5-7 days for not urgent cases. Update records with every case referred and followed up on.
  • Draft and type routine correspondence, documents and reports using word processing equipment and maintain up-to-date filing systems.
  • Identify extremely vulnerable or heightened risk individuals.
  • Provide psycho-social counseling and coordinate referrals and follow-up
  • Record referrals and monitor follow-up All cases
  • Coordination and Networking: CS team to conduct regular coordination and networking visits to the CS service providers for referring cases and introduction of GIZ services to PoC.
  • Focus groups discussions and awareness raising sessions.
  • Implement appropriate mechanisms to respond to victims of SGBV
  • Advocating on behalf of the PoCs for their rights, including to stop evictions or to find alternative solutions for persons of concern.
  • To dedicate hotline cell phone for receiving calls from GIZ PoC on CS issues, Each CS staff to be provided with hotline cell phone number and to be provided to PoC.
Required Qualification & Skills;
  • Education: Bachelor degree in Social Science or Law
  • Have at least 1 years experiences working with NGOs. ‎
  • Fluent Arabic, Kurdish and good English report writing skills required.
  • Ability to write analytical reports on protection concerns in English (on a weekly basis).
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Word programs
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must work well within ethnically diverse teams, and work cooperatively within teams.
