MAG is a humanitarian organisation clearing the remnants of conflict for the benefit of communities worldwide. MAG is co-laureate of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize and has been operating in Iraq since 1992 and is operational in five governorates. MAG’s extensive experience and longevity in Iraq and deliver diverse programmes across emergency and development response projects, including support, training and collaboration with national NGOs.

Job Responsibilities:
▪ Demonstrate a full understanding of the monitoring, QA and QC process and all evaluation forms used
▪ Demonstrate a full understanding of CL Standard Operating Procedures and NMAA CL and reporting requirements
▪ Provide constructive feedback to the CL teams/CL staff in the field during site visits
▪ Provide constructive feedback to the Standards and Training Supervisor and operational area CLM on problems or concerns raised during site visits and teamevaluations
▪ Ensure that all issues raised through team evaluations are documented and reported to the STSand operational area CLM
▪ Provide feedback on improvements of QA evaluation forms (QAEF) layout and questions following field use
▪ Ensure that all CL personnel within in the operational areas are adhering to CL SOPs and report any breaches to the CLM immediately
▪ Recommend appropriate amendments for CL SOP as required to the CLM andSTS
▪ Complete and submit relevant QAEF to the operational area CLM and STS in a timely manner, according tovisit schedule
▪ Participate in the annual and quarterly planning meetings and other operational planning meetings on bases, as required
▪ Develop and submit recommendationsto the operational area CLM, CLM-TL and STS fromanalysis of QA reports
▪ Assist CLMs on improving Quality Control and Quality Assurance methodologies, policies, andprocedures relating to Community Liaison activities to ensure the quality standard of Community Liaison activities
▪ QA/QC of activities of the Community Liaison Officers/Teams, as well as CLSs and CLTLs toensure sufficient level of performance
▪ Assist STS on integration of CL QA/QC data into QA/QC database
▪ Assist in the development of policies, procedures, job descriptions, and recruitment criteria for Community Liaison staff in cooperation with the CLM, CLM-TL and STS


Training Activities:
▪ Adherence to training objectives and programmes
▪ Assist with input for end of course reporting, to include QA findings
▪ Maintain accurate CL technical library documentation
▪ Ensure training facilities and resources on the bases are maintained
▪ Assist with the accurate compilation of training records for MAG CL staff
▪ Assist with collection of data for any incident or accident investigation
▪ Assist with any CL field tests requested by theCLM
▪ Supervision and coordination of CL trainees when instructing oncourses
▪ Work with base Ops Admin in maintenance of accuraterecords
▪ Produce clear, concise, factual reports when required to do so

Accountability Activities:

▪ Support the development and roll-out of an independent accountability mechanism to ensure Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP)
▪ Monitor and provide feedback and recommendations on the effectiveness of any accountability mechanism once in place


General Responsibilities:

▪ Work within the framework of MAG’s corevalues
▪ Act as an ambassador for MAG
▪ Participate in meetings where relevant
▪ Work in compliance with MAG’s Policies, including but not limited to, Equal Opportunities, Code of Conduct
and Dignity at Work Policies
▪ Understand and uphold the standards outlined in MAG’s Safeguarding Framework, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with MAG’s work and reporting concerns if they do arise
▪ Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development programmes
▪ Undertake any other duties as may be required
▪ Readiness to travel frequently and stay away from home
▪ Ability to drive MAG owned cars for operations purposes Person selection criteria: The post holder should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
▪ Understanding of NGOs and a commitment to humanitarian work
▪ Experience in Mine Action including and not limited to Non-TechnicalSurvey
▪ Hold a valid CL/EORE/NTS certificate from a recognized organization
▪ Ability to deliver lessons
▪ IT literate, with ability to prepare Power Point lessons and work with databases and maintenance of accurate records
▪ Have a good level of written and spoken English and strive to improve that level
▪ Be able to manage other staff in a way which encourages their input and builds the team
▪ Display an ongoing commitment to humanitarian work
▪ Possess a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work on his/her own
▪ Valid driving license Safeguarding
▪ Work in compliance with/uphold MAG's Safeguarding framework - Policy on Personal Conduct, Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy, Dignity at Work Policy, Reporting Malpractice (Whistleblowing) Policy, Equal Opportunities Policy and Policy on Modern Slavery
▪ Challenge any unacceptable behavior and report any safeguarding concerns that happen to them and others during their work in MAG
