The GIZ “Private Sector Development Project” (PSD) supports the Government of Iraq to develop its private sector with the objective to create more job opportunities for young people. 
The position is in a motivated dynamic, and idealistic team which welcomes personalities with similar qualities. We’re looking for people who like to think outside the box and are proactive in their approaches.
Responsibilities
The position holder supports the Communications Advisor in the duty to communicate successes of the project to relevant stakeholders, online, in print, and video. This includes a strategic communications strategy as well as advisory to the implementing units of the project. In addition, the position holder supports in advising government and businesses on how to communicate needs and challenges as well as successes. 
 
Tasks
Project Communication
  • Development and elaboration of public relation material according to GIZ standards and regulations. This includes journalistic work to create success stories with stakeholders and beneficiaries, the design, and print of said materials. 
  • Supporting line managers on communication strategies for their activities. A communication strategy for Employment Promotion as well as for Government Advisory has to be elaborated and frequently updated.
  • Management of the social media presence of the project and coordinating the presence of contracted implementing agencies regarding the project’s activities.
Communication Advisory
  • Support to the Communications Advisor to consult government entities and business groups on how to communicate successes and challenges to stakeholders inside and outside the public and private sector. 
  • Support to the M&E Advisor to communicate data to relevant stakeholders.
 
Other duties/additional tasks 
Supporting the project with translation duties and any additional tasks of if deemed necessary.
 
Required qualifications, competencies and experience Qualifications
Professional experience 
  • Education: University degree
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant occupational experience. Work for an international company or development organization is an advantage. 
  • Experiences in journalism, corporate communications, advertisement are an advantage.
  • Tasks require constructive creative thinking, sometimes also conceptual initiative.
  • Above average academic Arabic and fluent English language proficiencies are mandatory (written and spoken).
  • Other knowledge, additional competencies
  • Office Software literacy
  • Design Software literacy (Adobe etc.)
  • German language skills are an advantage
  • Team player, proactive and responsible personality, innovative and flexible.
  • Ability to travel in Iraq and abroad for limited periods
