Position Summary:
Genel Energy is an independent E&P company listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange Headquartered in London with offices in Ankara, Erbil, Morocco & Somaliland. Genel is one of the largest London-listed independent oil producers, and is the largest holder of reserves and resources in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The Company is steadily growing the business through the appraisal and development of our
assets in the Kurdistan Region and other locations. For the Sarta oil production operations the CLO will interface and liaise closely with the local community and the local authorities’ representatives. This Sarta field-specific role reports to the CSR advisor and works and interfaces closely with the Sarta Field Manager in the field.
Key Accountabilities:

The candidate duties and activities are centred around an active engagement with the local community, their representatives and local authorities. The candidate shall build strong relations with the stakeholders and conduct and participate in local meetings and conducting visits. The key objective is to achieve a sound relationship between the Company and local stakeholders to ensure harmony, allowing for efficient operations while preventing and resolving conflicts and upsets, with best interest for the local community.
Tasks and Duties include but not limited to:

Assist with building strong relations with the Local Authorities and Communities within the operation areas through holding regular meetings, conducting visits and clarifying the company’s policies and procedures.

Communicate the Local Authorities concerns and requests to the company’s management as appropriate.

Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports as well as presentations and other CSR related reports as required by the CSR Manager.

Undertake and manage direct engagement with local communities including receiving, monitoring and responding to grievances, disputes and unrests through regular and effective communications in the sites and report back properly and in timely manner to the management or the related department personal at GE.

Coordinate works and act as a bridge between the community, Local Authorities, contractors and GE in its operation areas ensuring company’s policies are understood and followed.

Conduct researches on the communities within the operation areas as appropriate and collect appropriate data and prepare assessment reports in order to assist in developing the CSR plans.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
The Candidate must have sensitivity to working with diverse cultural and religious backgrounds
and is self-motivated, adaptable and be capable of taking the initiative on a daily basis.

University Degree level with 5+ years of professional experience in similar role in oil and gas industry.

Preference will be given to candidates originated from the area.
Internal & External Interaction:

Internally the candidate will be expected to work supportively and actively collaborate with all GE disciplines and functions.

The candidate will liaise daily with the OPF, Trucking and Facility Operating Contractors, in addition to the Genel Security and Operations departments.

Externally the candidate engagemes with the local community, their representatives, local authorities and local contractors active for the Company.
