Task Description
The role of the recreational activity trainer is to hold sessions in a particular area of profession or skill, in a participatory environment within community center. This activity is directed to encourage beneficiaries to attend WV community centers to establish rapport with WV and learn about provided services. The recreational activity trainer is expected to:
- Plan, implement, and facilitate recreational activity.
- Maintain safe space for beneficiaries and ensuring the functionality and tidiness of the space at all times.
- Sets up and maintains inventory of all equipment, tools and materials for activity.
- Explain the rules of the activities and instruct participants at a variety of skill levels.
- Teach activity participants according to established lesson plans including direction and instruction of participants
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with participants.
Skills Required
- Ability and desire to interact with participants of all ages in a positive and courteous manner.
- Ability to teach and coach participants in a professional manner.
- Abide to WV policies.
- Demonstrated punctuality and reliability in work habits.
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and safe decision-making skills
- Flexibility, a positive attitude, enthusiasm and excellent problem-solving skills preferred.
- Must have experience as a leader or supervisor of others.
- Strong background in related area of activity.
