A. Responsibilities
The Cashier is responsible to stand by and step in on demand for cashier services of all Projects as well as Service Unit in Dohuk. He/she takes care that the services in the department is provided correctly and in accordance with GIZ financial management and accounting procedures.
B. Tasks

Financial services
-
assists the projects to handle and manage cash as per the GIZ instruction with creditor and debtor administration, including local subsidies and agreements with national appraisers

prepares transfers and/or other bank documents and checks these before execution

makes monthly payments and foreign currency transactions and optimises these
-
is responsible for administrative aspects of financial management, e.g. bank withdrawals, direct debit orders
2. Travel Claims, calculation and preparation for payment

calculates the travel claims for internal travels and prepares the documents for payment

is responsible for deducting taxes, social security and adjustment payments
3.Other duties/additional tasks

photocopies and scans documents as needed

Translates vouchers and other small documents where necessary

reports without delay to the person responsible for accounting on all problems in financial administration and compliance with rules

is responsible for filing financial administration documents and treating information confidentially

performs other duties and tasks at the request of management
C. Required qualifications, competences and experience Qualifications
-
certificate/diploma or comparable qualification from a commercial academy (accounting)
Professional experience
-
at least 1-3 years’ professional experience in a comparable position
Other knowledge, additional competences
-
knowledge of accounting software is an advantage
-
good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
-
very good knowledge of the European language widely used in the country, ideally a knowledge of German
-
willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
