MSF Switzerland is looking for an Anaesthesia Nurse / Technician

Main tasks of the role:

The anaesthetist Nurse/Technician works in collaboration with the anaesthesia doctors, ICU Nurse, IPC officer, and under Nurse Team Supervisor in MSF covid-19 centre. Detailed attention is required concerning the compliance with the rules of hygiene especially regarding IPC measures.
Accept and apply MSF principles, values and internal regulations. Apply MSF protocols and adhere to the rules implemented by MSF within MSF Covid-19 centre.
Ensure the preparation of the material and equipment (checking the quantity and quality), in the ICU and carry-out the reception, transport of the patient from the ER, IPD to the ICU and ensuring his/her installation for treatments.
Application of MSF guidelines and procedures implemented in the service with a strict respect of MSF IPC recommendations.
Prepares the drugs, the material and the equipment necessary for the accomplishment of the treatments.
Assists with the induction and the maintenance of the Medical Doctor according to the treatment requested by the Medical Doctor in compliance with the existing rules of hygiene based on MSF protocols and procedures.
Assists with the continuous monitoring and documentation of the patient file.
Assists patient with all nursing technical skills related to the position.
Responds to emergency situation by providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR, basic and advanced cardiac life support according to MSF procedures
Transmits the necessary information to the nurse or other designated personnel as required.
Evaluates pain and follows the established analgesia treatment according to MSF protocols and guidelines requested by the Medical Doctor
While performing all above mentioned tasks uses protective measures to avoid cross-infections according to MSF standards for IPC, especially regarding covid-19 intervention.
Complete the treatment as requested by the MD prescription in accordance with MSF procedures.
Be flexible for a training on preparation and management of the artificial ventilator or anaesthetic machine in case of need of ventilation (both invasive and non-invasive)
Reports any problem immediately to the supervisor

Requirements:

Essential experience of minimum 2 years as an anaesthetist nurse or OT nurse, including at least 1 year Mandatory “internship“ with DoH
Desirable experience MSF or other NGOs
Essential: Nursing diploma with specialisation as anaesthetics nurse
Essential Fluency in Arabic and desirable basic understanding of English
For applicants with foreign certificates, Iraqi recognised state-diploma is required.
For applicants registered under DOH Ninewa, a non-objection letter should be provided only if the staff is selected.
