A.   Responsibilities

he project “Stabilization Support to Iraq” aims at stabilization of the IS-liberated areas in Iraq and the return of internally displaced persons. Thereby the project supports Iraqi partners in improving their capacity to act in the liberated areas. Amongst others this includes the procurement and delivery of machinery to for the restoration of basic services and the implementation of capacity building measures for Ninewah Governorate.
The intern is responsible for
  • Support to the programmatic work of the project Stabilization Support Iraq
  • Support to the administration of the project Stabilization Support Iraq
  • running official errands and
  • assisting with other office work as required
B.   Tasks
  1. Programmatic Tasks
The intern supports the project implementation of Stabilization Support to Iraq in general and in detail in
  • Support to the Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting of the project including the preparation of maps, tables and graphs
  • Under guidance, task manager for keeping the monitoring system of equipment with an online application up to date
  • Support to fact finding and analysis on recent developments in the project areas
  • Support to Knowledge Management of the project
  • Support to preparations and follow up of the necessary government paperwork for the project
  • Support to translation of official letters and e-mails
 
          2. Administrative Tasks
  • Undertakes administrative tasks such as paperwork for administrative processes, delivery of official letters and messages, buying smaller quantities of office supplies and similar
  • Attending meetings and preparing meeting minutes
          3.Oher duties/additional tasks
  • If requested assists other colleagues as needed in their projects
  • Other project relevant tasks as arising
C.   Required qualifications, competences and experience Qualifications
  • secondary school education
  • enrolled in university in the subjects of business administration, social science, urban management or similar
  • Professional experience
  • experience in office and project support are an asset
 
Other knowledge, additional competences
  • good knowledge of English
  • good knowledge of Sorani, Kurmanji and/or Arabic are a strong asset
  • reliable, committed, pro-active, can work independently
  • open to learn
  • interested in working in an intercultural environment
