B.Tasks

Main tasks in Accounting
-
proper taking over of all relevant documents likewise vouchers for booking
-
quality check / audit of documents
-
preparing the error sheets based on the quality check
-
booking all relevant transactions using the GIZ internal software
-
completing of booking reports within deadline
-
proper communication with clients
-
Internal control
-
is involved in drawing up the monthly and annual internal controlling schedule and reports

General services
-
maintains an inventory for the office
-
bills/processes overtime applications from office and project/programme staff
-
processes settlement of applications for the reimbursement of travel expenses
-
draws up and updates the fee schedule for (national) individual appraisers
-
Other duties/additional tasks
-
replaces finance officer for cash and bank transfers, if necessary
-
performs other duties and tasks at the request of management
C.Required qualifications, competences and experience
Qualifications
-
University degree in finance or accounting
Professional experience
-
perennial work experience in the related field is a big asset
Other knowledge, additional competences
-
very good understanding for accounting software
-
very good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
-
good knowledge of the European language widely used in the country, ideally a knowledge of German
-
willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
