Mselect is looking to hire a Finance and Accounts Manager for one of it's Oil & Gas clients in Erbil. The main scope of the work is to lead the accounting and financial function in addition to managing the recording, recommencement, reporting and analysis of the company's financial results. The ideal candidate must have minimum of 5 years of experience with advanced GAAP skills and must be fluent in the English language.


  • Set up, implement and monitor the company accounting systems
  • Ensure timeliness and quality is achieved within the recurring financial statement close process
  • Monitor and maintains balance sheet accuracy and related analysis
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to support the Regulatory and Compliance function (IFRS & UAS)
  • Evaluate project economics during bid proposals, and after award and implementation
  • Create systems to manage financial, procurement and pricing data
  • Provide Strategic planning/ Budgeting and Forecasting support
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency to effectively research and document accounting policy and guidance related to business operations, projections and transactions on behalf of the company
  • Meets accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; preparing special reports
  • Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing accounting regulations; recommending new procedures
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Furnished Financial Report Detail to the Top Management when they are needed

MIS Reports Generation functions include:

  • Finalization of accounts – P & L / Balance Sheet
  • Preparation of Budget / Planning / Project / Cash Flow
  • Preparing Bidding Package for Commercial Part of the Project
  • Preparing P & L / Balance Sheet / Cash flow / Cost Workings for Project
  • Statutory – Preparing / Filing - Requirement related to Social Security
  • Preparing Document Related to Unified Accounting System Based on Iraqi law and IFRS
  • Cash Flow Statement / Bank Reconciling
  • Day to day activities related to accounting primary


  • Ability to work independently and manage a team
  • Skilled and experienced in Quick-books
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting and Finance
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or in a related area of study
  • Fluency in English language is required
