MSELECT is looking to hire a Catering Operations Manager for our client based in Erbil. Candidate must have minimum 8 years of experience in catering operations. Kurdish fluency is a must. English must be good.

Role Responsibilities

  • Planning menus in consultation with chefs and ordering supplies as required
  • Hiring, training, supervising and motivating permanent and casual staff
  • Cost control and procurement of kitchen supplies and necessities
  • Monitoring the quality of the product and service provided
  • Maintaining stock levels and ordering new supplies as required
  • Ensure that all employees project a positive, approachable, friendly and professional image
  • Organizing shifts and rotations of catering staff personnel
  • Organizing, leading and motivating the catering team
  • Ensuring health and safety regulations are strictly observed, recorded and archived
  • Be prepared to give practical help in any part of the kitchen should the need arise
  • Carry out food lost control as required
  • Setting and monitoring budgets and maintaining financial and administrative records
  • Maximizing sales and meeting profit and financial expectations
  • To produce all food services to the agreed client standard through the catering team
  • To actively seek and identify opportunities for business growth within the contract and external market
  • Report any faults to management/client, ensure they are rectified and ensure equipment is not used until safe
  • Attend to and take all necessary action, statutory or otherwise, in the event of incidents or accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food, or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate
  • Action compliments and ensure satisfactory in performance of entire team
  • Ensure consistency is maintained throughout the catering team and consistency is demanded of suppliers

Role Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s in Culinary Arts, Catering, Hospitality Management or Business Management
  • Must have minimum 8 years in catering operations
  • Kurdish fluency is a must. English must be good
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills combined with a high level of initiative
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to manage in a diverse environment
  • Good business and commercial acumen
  • Strong leadership and motivating skills
  • Good team working skills
