MSELECT is looking to hire an Accounting and Reporting Manager for an international oil & gas operator to be based in Erbil. Minimum 5 years of experience with oil companies’ fluency in English, Kurdish and Arabic.

Job Summary
Ensures that processes and tools are in place to effectively manage all aspects of the accounting/ reporting function. Communicates with external advisers including External audit. Actively engaged in activities under production sharing contracts. Acts for Finance Manager when he is out of the office.

Education & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with focus in finance, economics, Mathematics or business Administration.

  • At least 5 years’ experience with Oil companies.

Job duties

  • Participate in development, implementation and maintenance systems, accounting practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with IFRS and applicable local (Kurdistan Region –Iraq) reporting requirements.

  • Interact with outsourcing accounting company who provides accounting and reporting services, creates and

  • submit the branch’s financial statements and tax returns.

  • Supervise the monthly closing process, collect source documents with respect to all transactions performed and provide them to the accounting company.

  • Ensure that all recorded transactions fairly represent the economic event that occurred are lawful, correctly classified and have been executed in accordance with management’s authorization.

  • Ensure that all required statements and returns, prepared by the accounting company, are submitted to the government and tax authorities in a timely manner.

  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts and analyses financial statements to ensure their completeness and accuracy.

  • Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit and interact with them with concerning financial and operational activities and financial statements.
