mselect is looking to hire a Maintenance Civil Engineer for an international oil & gas operator in Basrah. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry. English and Arabic fluency is a must.
JOB OBJECTIVE
Provide Civil Engineering technical support, design & design review. Proficient and self-motivated Engineer, with good time management skills and a track record for consistent project delivery with strong technical knowledge and competence discipline.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- undertaking technical and feasibility studies
- using a range of computer software for developing detailed Structural designs
- compiling job specifications
- resolving design problems
- ensuring projects meet agreed specifications, budgets and timescales
- liaising with contractors and other professional staff, especially quantity surveyors and the overall project manager
- providing technical advice and solving problems on site
- Ensuring that health, safety and sustainability as per company policy
- Architectural, Civil and Structural Specifications
- Surface Drainage Calculations
- Plot Plans indicating Buildings, Equipment, Roads and Fences
- Earthwork Drawings indicating Cuts and Fills Elevations
- Road Drawings
- Material Take Off
Structural Model:
- Definition of the Geometry of the Structures

- Definition of Actions on the Structures
- Definition of the Size and Grade of the Structural Members
Earthworks Design Calculations:
- Definition of Geotechnical Parameters

Concrete Calculations:
- Concrete Stress Verifications

Structural Steel Calculations:

KEY REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering
- Understanding of Civil Engineering theories and practical
- understanding of Structural Modelling, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Steel, Geotechnical & Drainage Engineering
- High professional skills in AutoCAD program 2D&3D
Experience:
- 10 years of relevant job experience within the oil & gas industry
- Minimum 5 years of experience as civil engineer role in oil and gas industries
Computer Skills:
