mselect is looking to hire a Datacentre Engineer for an international oil & gas operator in Basrah. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas industry. English and Arabic fluency is a must.
JOB OBJECTIVE
Datacentre management and maintenance for the oil field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for daily data centre software and hardware maintenance
- Responsible for the migration of new oilfield applications to the data centre
- Responsible for liaising with vendors to resolve issues encountered in the data centre
- Responsible for 24-hour data centre duty and completing daily duty logs
- Planning for the development of the data centre in response to actual oilfield needs
- Propose solutions to problems that arise in the data centre
- Responsible for daily data centre inspections and issuance of inspection reports
- Responsible for maintaining various management and application virtual machines in the data centre
- Responsible for daily data backup and DR uptime in the data centre
- Responsible for monitoring data centre security and performance issues and recommending solutions in a timely manner
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- BSc Degree in Engineering, computer, communication, electrical
- Huawei Data Centre Certification Priority
- Cisco, Huawei certification CCNA, CCNP HCIA HCNP
Experience:
- 5 to 8 years of relevant job experience within the oil & gas industry
- Independently completed the design and implementation of oilfield Datacentre
- Good understanding of and demonstrable hands-on experience in all functional aspects of Datacentre including networking, security, server, storage, virtualization, backup, DR, AC, UPS and maintenance SLA management
Computer Skills:
- MS Office: Excel, Word and Power point
- Datacentre– Familiarity with datacentre equipment from major vendors
- Software– Familiarity with various datacentre management software
