mselect is looking to hire an IM Data Management Engineer for an international oil & gas operator in Basrah. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry and be fluent in English and Arabic.
JOB OBJECTIVE
Assist in the delivery of the company data control work instructions covering data validation of Operations, based on the company’s specific data control delivery procedure. to enable the business processes that support Asset Integrity and Operations. Manage the offline materials to online data by OCR.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Control, classification and organization of data generated in support of the design, build and operation of Assets
- Appraise, edit, and direct the safekeeping of permanent records and valuable documents. Participate in research activities based on archival materials
- Create and maintain accessible, retrievable computer archives and databases, incorporating current advances in electric information storage technology
- Do OCR scanning, arranging, cataloguing, and maintaining collections of valuable materials
- Organize archival records and develop classification systems to facilitate access to archival materials
- Co-ordinate all data activities across disciplines and contracts to deliver the required data in line with the company standards
- Ability to define the data requirement and Identify safety critical equipment
- Implement a set of key procedures and specifications governing the data control process, including data control procedure, document numbering specification
- Validate & quality check of handed over engineering data
- Ensure processes and documentations are in place to deliver the data requirements
- high efficiency working with data engineering tools e.g. engineering data management systems EDW, SPF
- Maintaining both project/ operations approaches
- Ability to work in a fast-moving, rapidly changing and dynamic environment of a major Capital Project
- Prepare and issue data reports align with SAP
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Mechanical engineer college degree
Experience:
- Minimum three years of data management experience in the Oil & Gas sector
- Previous experience in engineering Data management systems
- Engineering databases, tools and document management systems
Computer Skills:
- MS Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint – Advanced

- A high degree of skill in written and oral communications
- Fluency in both English and Arabic (verbal & written)
