mselect is looking to hire an IT Project Manager Assistant for an international oil & gas operator in Basrah. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industry. English and Arabic fluency is a must.
IT Project Manager Assistant is responsible for the creation, development, and maintenance of project schedule. The Planner/ Scheduler works with PMO leadership including the Project Manager, Project Controls, Engineering Manager and Engineering department personnel as required to develop and maintain the Schedule. The Planner/Scheduler should be experienced in the creation, development, and presentation of project schedule(s) throughout a project or projects’ entire project life cycle.
  • Independently develop, review, analyses and maintain project schedules in an efficient and comprehensive manner
  • Deliver and maintain consistent and realistic plans and control structures for each project. Understand the list of plans required to execute the assigned project and their interface to other projects or contractors
  • Develop the activities, logic, resource loading and progress to provide a fully integrated project schedule, leading to the creation of the baseline schedule and its subsequent maintenance
  • Develops and updates the planning and progress monitoring procedures to ensure that each element of the project performs the processes timely and consistently
  • Review scope change requests for the impact on schedules and the critical path of the project
  • Capable of regularly explaining the project schedule status in formal meetings, presentations or negotiations
  • Consolidate the impact of approved changes and any deviations from the key project targets and milestones, including productivity monitoring and “What if scenarios” to aid project management decision-making
  • Deliver close-out data to enable knowledge retention (lessons learned, project data compilation) at completion of work. Maintain historical database of scheduling activities, durations, and overall cycle times
  • Develop Schedule Basis narrative to document how project plan was developed Interacts/ Works with Discipline leaders to plan the sequence of Engineering, Procurement and Construction activities including fabrication, assembly, installation, and other operations for guidance of downstream workers
  • BSc Degree in Engineering, computer, communication, electrical
  • PMI certification
  • Knowledge in agile methodologies
  • Must have proficiency using Primavera P6 (Certified P6 basic training module and Certified P6 advanced training module preferred, but applicable work experience will be accepted)
  • Strong skills in MS Office suite of software (emphasis on Excel skills)
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) requirements
  • Experience working in an operating facility
  • English – upper intermediate (verbal & written)
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant job experience within the oil & gas industry
  • Good understanding of and demonstrable hands-on experience in all functional aspects of IT-Telecom including networking, security, and maintenance SLA management
  • Experience working with IT Telecom contractors
