The British International Schools in Kurdistan were established in 2012 to serve the community by creating a world-class education through a professional learning community that transforms today’s learners into the leaders of Kurdistan tomorrow. Today, BISK serves a diverse student body composed of 650 learners Grades K-13 from many ethnic, religious and linguistic backgrounds. As a result of academic passion, and commitment, BISK principal Dr. Frano Ivezaj, teachers and parents work cooperatively and collaboratively to ensure academic success for all students. We guarantee a high quality education both American and British system in a clean, safe, healthy, and nurturing teaching and learning environment. Fully certified with BA or MA degrees in their country of origin, native English speakers teach students in KG-3 and in the English Department in the Secondary. BISK has a diverse staff with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and several years of teaching experience. Furthermore, we have a fully certified special education teacher with years of experience to ensure that we serve the educational needs of our SEN (Special Education Needs) students. Secured bus transportation is provided to our students and BISK homemade breakfasts and lunches are prepared and served by two chefs and supporting staff. The American International Accreditation Association has awarded full accreditation for BISK from November, 2018 to June 30, 2024 with highest scores in quality assurance among 200 schools AIAA accredited in the Middle East. In addition, the Kurdistan Ministry of Education recognized BISK as No. 1 Ranking International School in Kurdistan for academic year 2018-2019.
